I am so thrilled to announce that we are expecting our second baby. My symptoms are incredibly different than my first pregnancy and I wanted to share my first-trimester survival kit. Hope this will help you during this time as much as it did for me.

My Pregnancy Symptoms
During my first pregnancy, I did not experience any symptoms other than being tired all the time and being extra lazy. However, this pregnancy in my first trimester I experienced “morning sickness” (in reality nausea all day every day) which threw me for a loop and in search of products to ease my nausea.
My other symptoms were loss of appetite, I couldn’t tolerate drinking water and the smell of raw or even any cooked meat would make me nauseous. Plus an added bonus, I wasn’t able to change my son’s dirty diaper without gagging all the way through.
But as soon as the second trimester rolled in all my symptoms disappeared.
First-trimester Survival Kit
Outshine pops
I loved eating these popsicles since I wasn’t really able to eat much. Specifically, the tangerine flavor helped me ease my nausea and took care of my sweet tooth.
Canada Dry Ginger Ale
When I felt super nauseous I would drink the Canad Dry Ginger Ale in the mini cans.
Ginger snaps
Annas’s ginger thins are also a favorite snack during this time period.
Small meals
I couldn’t eat a lot the first trimester so I tried my best to eat small meals (that were made ahead by parents and fiance), protein snacks like the RxBars, or a protein drink to keep me going with a toddler.
Limeade
Did I mention I couldn’t drink water? It was horrible because it is important to keep hydrated while pregnant and I just couldn’t bear to even think of drinking water. However, I found that limeade was my drink of choice to help me ease my nausea and keep me hydrated.
I would make a pitcher of limeade or quickly whip up a cup of limeade with half a lime and cane sugar and put it in my Yeti or Contigo tumbler. But if I was short on time I would mix True Lemon original lemonade drink mix and this would do the trick.
Water bottle
I used a Yeti or Contigo tumbler, to keep my drinks cold or a reminder water bottle to remind me to drink while I run around chasing my toddler.
Tums
I did suffer from heartburn with my pregnancies which sucked because I had to be careful with what I ate. The antacids that I used were the Tums Chewy Bites or Tums Smoothies. These two products were easier for me to take than the original Tums. Please make sure with your healthcare provider they are right for you.
Ritual Vitamins
I have a hard time being consistent with taking vitamins but with the Ritual Essential Prenatal Vitamins, I actually looked forward to taking them. The pills have a lemon essence coating in which helped me take the pill easier and the size of them aren’t too big.
The ingredients are clean with 12 essential nutrients for you and baby. Also, they even disclose where they source all the ingredients that are in the pill. I was able to get you $15 off your first order through this link click HERE to try them.
P.s. have you heard about Rakuten? I use it all the time to save money from popular online retail stores that I shop at. Let me be honest with this baby coming and a toddler in tow I don’t have the strength or time to go to the store, therefore, I order everything online now and save money while doing so. Join for free and get $10 when you spend $25 click HERE NOW.
I hope this first-trimester survival kit serves you as much as it did for me. I would love to know what helped you go through your first trimester? Did you get other symptoms? Find me on Instagram @lorenasvida I would love to hear from you!
